Blue Monday...6-29-09

Again, Martha (Menagerie) has created a monster in me and this blogging is addictive. I'm always looking at things differently now...would this make a good picture or not! We were at a luncheon and I saw this and started clicking away. Martha just laughed at me ;~}

I thought it was cute, the cup is only about 3" high.

Macro Monday

If you look carefully you will find 3 tree frogs in this orchid pot:~)
How they get into the lanai I don't know.

Mellow Yellow Monday #25

There were several of these school bus stops along the highway near
Mount Dora, FL. If it rained not many children could fit inside
and besides there were openings on all sides.

Round Robin Challenge - Wildlife

Gus, the resident gopher tortise at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Juno Beach, FLI found this snake underneath one of my orchids when I was removing
the pot to set it out in the rain. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting
to see anything when I lifted the inner pot let alone a snake!
A friend then threw it out in the common area between our houses.
Common black snake but it was inside my lanai!

These next two photos should be reversed ... if you notice in the
bottom photo this otter is swimming towards the boat, climbs up
into it and when he gets there he knows exactly where the
baitwell is because he found he found his dinner
and didn't have to chase after it!

Sunday Stills Challenge: Things With Wings

Odd Shots....Flags

The "pirate flag" is from a tourist ship in Key West, Fl but I much prefer the American Flag taken in Cypress National Park in the Everglades.

Shadow Shot #58

We were staying at a fish camp on the lake and when this great blue heron came right outside our cabin I ran in to get my camera and forgot to let it adjust to the temperature before taking pictures. It had been in the AC so when I brought it outside the high humidity
kept fogging up the lens so the picture looks a bit 'soft'.

Pink Saturday...6.20.09

This is a friend's infinity pool ~ he has different colored
lights that cycle every few seconds.

Camera Critters #63

This photo is in memory of my beloved grand-dog, Harley. He had to be put down June 14 at the age of only 9:-( He'd been having issues and woke my daughter up very early Sunday morning to let her know that his hind legs were completely paralyzed. He was a very sweet dog and when he would come to visit us he would always "talk" to us like he was saying 'I'm so glad to see you guys. I've missed you'. We love you Harley and will always miss you. ♥

I will be off-line from 6/19-6-25 so will respond after that date.

Color Carnival #6

Sunday Stills...water towers or grain silos

Historis Cabbage Key Water Tower, the last standing original water tower in our area....built in the early to mid 30's. We were able to climb the tower (only 41 stairs and holds only 6 people) for a magnificient view of the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Charlotte Harbor on the other side.

Todays Flowers...

Since it was raining most of the morning I thought I'd run outside and take a picture of one of my hibiscus...as you can see the rain made the flower a bit 'heavy'.........

Scenic Sunday...&...Shadow Shot Sunday

This is from Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, FL. I don't know what kind of tree this is but I thought the tree roots looked cool!
