SSS #106....oak trees lining Magnolia Street??

Magnolia Street in St Augustine, FL taken from the trolley we took to tour the city....wonder who decided to plant oak trees and not magnolia trees?!? I love how there's so much spanish moss hanging from the trees.

I know just where this is...
I, too, wondered about the name of this oak-lined street. Probably, a hundred years ago (give or take some years) there was a magnificent magnolia on this road.... Hmmmm

Hope you enjoyed your day in St A. I am looking so forward to getting there late summer/early fall. It is one of my favorite places in FL.

Have a super weekend.

ha! how funny! We just went out and purchased a Magnolia tree for the side of my home (and no, I don't live on Magnolia street!!)
Love the shadows here - my favorite part about visiting the southern states is the spanish moss in the trees!
Happy SSS!

The shadows cast on the street look like lace.

I have been to St. Augustine a long time ago may 7 years?

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Vicki, Glad to hear from you. How's life in Florida these days? It's hotter than blue-blazes up here in TN... We're having the hottest June I can remember since we moved here in 2003.

You should start a petition --getting St. Augustine to change the name of that street to OAK Street instead of Magnolia.... ha

Great picture.
Hugs,
Betsy

Maybe I'm strange, but I love the Spanish Moss. I remember being a child, looking a pictures with moss hanging from trees, and longing to go to the South. Now I have some in my trees. :)
